B200mini case STL

Is there an STL for a case for the B200 mini?  I have a pair on their
way to me and thought I would give the 3D printer a few cycles of work
while I wait.  All I can find right now is Tim's version for sale, I was
hoping that someone had the STL files for free download somewhere.

NM, user error (as usual with me).  If you create an account with
shapeways, you can then see the link that Tim supplied to download the
STL files (there is no link if you aren't logged in which is what threw
me off).

Ettus Research is working on a low-cost enclosure for the USRP B200mini
series.  The design is complete and we are getting some prototypes built
right now.  We intend to offer it for sale sometime this summer.

I printed this up and tried it with my new minis that just came in and
it works perfectly.  I had some alignment issues with Tim's version, but
yours seems to have the right fit.  I haven't fired it up to see how the
heat dissipation is through your vents, but I was impressed with
everything else up to this point.  Thanks!

Hey Jason,

That’s super that it actually worked without a tweak. To be honest, I had to file (lightly), the break-away nibs on the B200mini PCB, but then it was tight.

I’ve transmitted for about an hour at 50 dB gain and there is only a slightly warm feel to the unit. I think if it got anywhere near the 160-180C melting/softening point of the PLA, I’d notice.

Regardless, if you would like any changes and don’t feel like doing it yourself, let me know. For example, if someone wanted a “logo” vent, like you see on some Raspberry Pi enclosures, that might be possible. I was just being lazy with my vents.

ta,

steven

Steven, I actually just noticed something that might be unique to me.
When I plug one of my USB3 cables into the device, the casing doesn't
fit over the plug.  I believe that this is the cable that comes with the
unit.  Have you had any issues with that?
