Well, Fred, whatever global warming there was in the past 13 years was
caused by sun spot activity which turned the thermostat up on the sun. It
goes in about an 11 year cycle. There is no question it was warmer here
in northern MN for about a decade, but the sunspot cycle is over and we
have pretty much returned to normal. Of course, the global warming
activitists are desperately beating their drum trying to keep their
agenda active for political reasons. But it is hard to convince the
public when they look at their heating bills, shovel deep snow, and have
to put on extra layers of clothes for extra months.

By the way, are you comfortable leaving your tug uncovered all winter?
Snow won't hurt gelcoat, but if moisture gets into cracks and then
re-freezes, you could have trouble. (nice boat BTW).

David,

I found it interesting to see the founder of Weather Channel
interviewed
and heard him say that global warming doesn't exist at all.  My
personal
thought was always that the last Ice Age ended long ago and it's
been
getting warmer ever since.  Then I moved up north here, and now I'm
looking
for signs of wooley mamoths.  I fear for Bear (my cat) and hope one
of them
doesn't step on him as he tries to drag it home.

Well, Fred, it looks like you need some global warming. Haven't seen
much
the last couple of years. maybe its because it doesn't exist
anymore. We
sure could use some warming out here in Duluth today. Its below zero
here
also.

All you Snow Birds out there:

Ever wonder what you're missing by heading for Florida when winter

is
approaching in New York?  I just completed a page showing what it

looks
like up here in the frozen north on the Canals:

Later I'll answer the question, "What do look-keepers do all
winter?" ...
stay tuned.
