Just spent an enjoyable day at sea roding out and hammering head piping to
clear out years of dead salt water growth.

Is there anything I can periodically flush down the head to keep the pipes
clean but not damage the macerating heads?

A cup of plain white vinegar once a week will prevent the buildup and won't
harm anything.
