Tom had a conversation with Daun Friday morning about the picnic, and we
decided that the current state of things regarding the virus, as well as
the risk to the Yeagley household of having a lot of folks in and around,
simply was too much risk. Therefore, we decided to cancel the picnic for
this year.

That being the case, our normal 4th Friday meeting will be held via Zoom
instead. The date for that is August 28th, and the Zoom session will begin
at 6:30 PM, although, as is customary, the meeting will not start until I
have finished my dinner 😉. Zoom meeting details will be posted a few days
before the meeting.

Sorry that we had to make this decision, but you all know the reasons it is
prudent to do so.

See you on the 28th via Zoom!

I think this was the correct decision. For the past four months I've been doing part time work for the Clark County (Ohio) Combined Health District, driving COVID-19 patients in a county owned minibus home from the hospital or from home to a medical appointment. Because I cannot stop for two weeks prior to the picnic in order to quarantine, I was planning to beg off anyway.
For those not yet convinced of the seriousness of the pandemic, two people I've known for years have been lost so far. One was the 50 year old son of my Yellow Springs employer, who I have known since his high school days. Another was a female member of my Springfield North High School class of 1971.
