The five shows the pump is not working as well as it should. I
took out the "filter" plug and there wasn't really anything in there but a
little crud. It's meant to catch paper clips, etc. Just an FYI to get these
error numbers before you call tech support.

We have a WD series, vented. For some time we had similar problems with
the machine going into lockout
periodically, with the code showing a pump fault. Cleaning the pump trap
at the bottom of the machine turned up some coins, but the problem
recurred after removing them. Frustrated, I called tech support and they
advised me to open the machine to test the sensors, no small task the
way the machine is shoehorned into its spot. The code kept returning a
pump fault, and would work for months at a time then fault out
periodically.
When I open the trap, I always use the vet vac to pick up the water that
comes out of the trap, and decided that it may be helpful to vac out the
pump as well. Voila.... more coins. Most frustrating 15 cents ever!
Evidently the coins would lodge in the hose and prevent the pump from
operating properly, always intermittently. Since removing the last
coins, the machine has been 100% reliable.
If you're having intermittent pump fault problems, it may be helpful to
vac out the pump assembly.
