Bob, try putting a real mean looking inflatable doll holding a fly swatter in the helm seat. It works on our boat when Jill sits there, but then, most of the time, she doesn't need to be inflated, not to look mean.

Anyone have a simple way to dissuade
the critters from swarming and dying on instrument panel of
flybridge??  Not the most serious boating problem but
still gives the Dustbuster a workout. Bob Siegel Annapolis

These poor creatures are only alive for 24 hours desperately searching for a hookup. Then they die, so are not easily frightened off.  They are very, very procreative mission oriented.
Sometimes a gentle hosing will move the living ones off, however avoid crushing them as they leave a stain.  Letting them dry out and blowing or vacuum them up is the best non marking solution method.
