I like the suggestion that they be in sleeping areas. We had false alarms in our main salon when no engines were running possibly from battery charging.

These work for smoke and fire if mounted on the ceiling but fails the CO alert.  A detector to be used on a boat or camper etc. should be at sleeping level or lower.  On the floor or on a nightstand.  The gas is heavy and sinks to the floor therefor rendering a ceiling mount unusable for CO detection.  This is the one I use just for CO.
