BEST WISHES FOR A SAFE AND SUCCESSFUL EVENT... ... to all Gators who will be relaying and riding on the trail or otherwise competing this weekend! We have 30+ Gators participating in events this weekend, which is a weekend that includes two club events, a club social, and a sponsor event! Weekend Workouts: After a one week break for the Easter holiday, our Sunday 11:15am-12:15pm uncoached group swim is back and we also have the rescheduled "KO to KC Ride" taking place on Sunday. For the KO to KC Ride you can join us for part of it or the entire 50+ mile roundtrip! Weekend Events: We have 32 Gators in action in 6 events and a sold out club sponsor event... Saturday, April 23: • CLUB EVENT: Schuylkill River 50K Relay (SRT between Phoenixville and Conshohocken): There are 13 Gators that we are aware of that are running as part of 4 teams. "The Chompions" are fully staffed by Gators including Brittany Acosta, Dre Barber, Amelia Blythe, Sara Dansbury, Beth Wysoczanski, and James Wysoczanski! "In It For the Beer" includes Sarah Barkley, Michael Connelly, Don Mack, and Andrew Slysh running with past Gator Mary Donovan and her brother James Kain! The "Gazelligators" are back for another appearance, this time featuring Holly Beauchamp teaming up with past Gators Teresa Byrne and Patty Trainer! "Old Dirty Bastards" features Joe DeNicola! And rounding out the Gator participants is Sean Lodge! • SPONSOR EVENT: Scoogie Events' "Great Peace Valley 5 Miler & 5K" (Doylestown, PA) will be happening in Peace Valley Park. This event is SOLD OUT. • Lenape Challenge (Schwenksville, PA): This unique local event is run by the Perkiomen Watershed Conservancy and includes a 5 mile trail run followed by a 2 mile canoe or kayak effort. Susan Flavin will be participating! Sunday, April 24: • Williamstown Badgers RiverWinds Tri (West Deptford, NJ): Chris Townsley gets our triathlon season kicked off in this sprint event! • St. Luke's Half Marathon (Allentown, PA): Ginny Angus will be taking on this 13.1 mile challenge! • Valley Forge Revolutionary Run (Valley Forge Park, PA): Holly Beauchamp and Lindsay Inger will both compete in this popular 5 mile event! • CLUB EVENT: KO to KC Ride (9am start; Reynold's Dog Park/Longford Park, Phoenixville): We'll start this rescheduled event at Kristen's bench and tree, travel down the SRT to Keswick Cycle's University City shop, stop there for a brief visit, and then turn around and head back. If you are not yet ready for a 50+ mile ride, you can optionally join us for the first part (turn back at your leisure), the middle part (Rachel Truckley will be jumping in at Manayunk), or the end (start a late ride from the dog park, maybe around 11am, and catch us on the way back). At last count there were 14 on our riders list including Chris Acosta, Jill Basile, Jon Crosby, Sara Dansbury, Gleb Epelbaum, Maureen Hoffman, Paul Kratzinger, Don Mack, Chris Reiter, David Stone, Rachel Truckley, Randell Torres, Beth Wysoczanski, and James Wysoczanski! Whether you ride or not you are welcome to join us... If you do plan to go and are not riding, please post a comment below or in the event (so that we can get an accurate headcount and communicate with you if our ride time will have us arriving at Fitzwater at a different time).
