Just curious if anyone can report on the number of people at Cove today looking
at the FTFlycatcher.
I heard that there were 70 birders there today and that for the most part the
area was cordoned off (probably a good idea at that point with so many people)
It is very confiding and tolerant but wondered what the scene was like today
since it may affect whether I'd go tomorrow.
A great bird nonetheless!

At 10AM today there were 81 folks viewing the Flycatcher.
Its believed at least 364 people prior to today have visited Cove Island Wildlife Sanctuary to twitch this rarity.

When George and I were there on Friday at about 3:00 pm there were about 10
people. We got wonderful views of this most cooperative bird. Where do you
get your 364 number? We never signed anything although I did take a
membership brochure and plan to send a donation.

Kathy,
You asked: Where do you get your 364 number?
That number came from a Board Member of C.I.W.S.
There has been at least one of them there much of the time since the bird was discovered and they have been trying to get as accurate a headcount as they could.
Best,
Jim

Thanks, Jim. The number seemed a little low. I expect it will climb significantly after this weekend.
