NEW YORK CANALS

Yesterday, Sunday, the Champlain Canal opened, and we brought Tug 44 home
at last from Wterford to Fort Edward.  There was an awful lot of debris in
the water, incuding large logs.  The current was stronger than I have ever
seen it and steering required constant attention.  One buoy was off
station and was being dragged under.

The trip was uneventuful, other than the newspaper photographer at one of
the locks.  The trip may be recorded in the Times Union newspaper and on
their website.

I would not have wanted to make this trip going south traveling with the
current and things would happen way too fast, but traveling north
(upstream) is OK.  Any boaters waiting in Lake Champlain coming south
should travel no farther than Fort Edward, and wait for reduced current.
Safety First.

Fred, So I expect to see full coverage of your trip in the New York

Time this week !

Our trip from Krenzer Marine in Sotus Bay to Oswego on Lake Ontario, was

very smooth and uneventful on Saturday , although 70% of it was done in
dense fog, keeping several miles off shore, there was no traffic or drift
wood on the water, fortunately arriving into Oswego Harbour the fog cleared
for an easy arrival, then closed in a hour later.
