Hi all,
To add to Min's and Chris's posts, now is a perfect time to get out and confirm breeding in your atlas blocks. If you don't have a block, no worries, there are still unclaimed blocks. Just check the map on the atlas page. Don't have time to claim a block but would still like to contribute, that's easy too. Just go birding anywhere in the state, including your yard and neighborhood, make an ebird checklist, code each bird's status (feeding young, occupied nest, pair in suitable habitat, etc.) Whatever fits, and share it with ctbirdatlas. You're help will make a difference to our understanding of Connecticut's birds. If you have questions, email me. Atlasing is like a treasure hunt. Enjoy.

'A couple comments regarding the concurrent and long-established Summer Bird Counts. Please contribute to Summer Bird Counts and when you find any evidence of breeding status, also report specific locations to CT Bird Atlas.
Use CTBirds and eBird to report sightings. For example, the New Haven Count is this weekend, and multiple visit reports to hotspots such as West Haven's Sandy Point will result in a larger number of species found there.
Thanks!
