The same Chinese crimper sells for $48 to $68 at Harbor Freight as

It's not the same crimper. The HF one has a theoretical maximum wire size of
00, but as widely reported the dies are undersized. In practice that unit
can apparently crimp no larger than a #4 lug. Harbor Freight is aware of
this but hasn't rectified it to my knowledge.

The MIC-120 being sold on eBay appears to be similar to or based on a
Chinese model called the YQK-120:

The YQK comes with these eight dies: 10, 16, 25, 35, 50, 70, 95, and 120mm2.
There's an AWG to metric conversion chart here:

I contacted the company in China and asked about importing. If I buy 10, the
total cost would be $494 delivered. If there are 9 other interested T&Ters
I'd be open to ordering the 10 and distributing them. Cost would be say $49
each plus a flat $20 for boxing and shipping if you are in the US.

Let me know off-list if you are interested.

Thanks!

The hydraulic crimper itself still appears identical. It even comes with the
same "O" ring set, bur the case is differently arranged. I'm sure that the
dies are different, but assuming that the die numbers are cross sectional
area  in mm; I'm having trouble matching these sizes to regularly used
American wire sizes. I've allowed room for insulated terminals and only a
few seem to work out. If these dies are useful, your idea is a generous one.

Folks, last post on this topic from me, but wanted to let those of you
following this thread know that I have now signed up 8 people interested in
the Chinese hydraulic crimper. I need just two more "commitments" in order
to place the order with the factory.

You'll recall that this device comes with 8 dies (10, 16, 25, 35, 50, 70,
95, and 120mm2) and will cost $69 delivered to CONUS (or $49 if you live in
the SF area).

Please let me know off-list if you are interested.

Thanks!
