BUY, SELL AND TRADE TRAWLERS AND TRAWLERING GEAR
View all threadsI'm selling a Charles Industries "AC Master Controller" (ACMC),
model 93-ACMC50I-B.
This is the Cadillac of all marine/RV automatic transfer switches. While
this model is nominally the 50-amp model, the main contactor is actually
rated for 100 amps to accommodate installations with main generators
larger than 50 amps.
The ACMC has four inputs and two outputs. The main generator input is
rated for 100 amps, with a 50-amp rating for the second generator and
each of two shore inputs. Each shore/generator is normally routed to its
own output (Bus-A or Bus-B) but if only one selector is hot, the two
outputs are automatically bridged. This allows the device to effectively
be used to select among four inputs to a single output as needed, for
example shore, small generator, large generator, and inverter.
A more complete description of this unit can be found on the
manufacturer's web site, here:
http://www.charlesindustries.com/main/ma_acinpcom.html
The installation and operation manual for this unit can be found here:
http://www.charlesindustries.com/marine_manual/05_19_06_agile_lt_acmc50i_1[1].pdf
This unit is fully operational and in excellent condition. We removed it
because it was overkill for our boat -- we have only a single generator.
One of the dielectric dividers between the main output terminals is
cracked and has been repaired with epoxy. This divider does not impact
operation and is there to prevent accidental shorting of the terminals
during installation. I hesitate to even mention it but I want to be
complete.
Included are three of the recommended "cord grips," one for each of two
input cords and one for the output cord. These items were extra-cost
accessories. If I pack the unit for shipping I may need to remove these
and pack them separately.
New, this system cost over $3,000. It can be yours for a fraction of
that price; make me an offer. If you have two generators, and/or two
shore connectors, this device can make your life a bit easier.
Right now we are cruising New England, with plans to be in DC at the end
of October and then heading south for the holidays. You can meet us
somewhere along our route, or I can pack and ship it, but it's heavy,
probably 80 lbs by the time I am done packing it.
Drop me an email if interested or if you have any questions.
