A very busy couple days at the Last Chance Regatta. We had a total of 15 boats racing -- 5 in Division 1 (spinnaker), 4 in Division 2 (spinnaker), and 6 in Division 3 (non-spinnaker). NBC and Cruising Fleet boats racing were Hee Soo and The Office (Div 1), Imagine More (Div 2), and Encore, Nerosh, Pentimento, Sheba and Zoom (Div 3). The spinnaker divisions raced windward/leeward courses around orange tetrahedrons, and the non-spinnaker division raced the usual fixed mark courses.
Saturday saw light shifty winds, and the RC ran some very short courses for the spinnaker divisions, with some finishes occurring within 15 minutes of a start. Sunday saw some very heavy winds, with steady 20+ knots as we finished racing about 1 p.m. (in fact NBC Sunday racing was canceled due to the high wind). Over the weekend, we had 17 starts:
Full Last Chance Regatta results will be available on the HRYRA website later this week.
Provisionally, NBC skippes and Cruising Fleet Friends won the following regatta awards:
The Last Chance Regatta likely represents that last PHRF racing for the season, unless we get a few boats out on Closing Day -- October 13. So the following Cruising Fleet Series standings may (or may not) represent the final results for the season. Of course, we will do a review and audit of all the information before we announce final results and make awards.
FYI, the Fleet Champ award is hotly contested between Sheba and The Office. In fact, after the LCR these two have a tie based on their Cox-Sprague scoring percentage -- each has a scoring percentage of 78.51. According to our Series Rules we calculate their percentage to 2 decimal places only; in the event of a tie, we look at the sum of the top 5 scores for the series for each boat, and the high sum wins (Sheba 321 vs. The Office 270).
With that in mind, below you'll find the latest Cruising Fleet Series Standings. The standings now exclude competitors who have not met the minimum number of races to qualify (20 races for Fleet Champ, 10 races for Sunday/Regatta Series).
For the last Sunday of the season (Closing Day OCT 13 -- start @ 12:30 PM) , we have a lot of "MAYBE" on our RACING RSVP -- let us know if you too are a MAYBE or RACING.
Otherwise, thanks to all the racers for an excellent season!
