The termite rule as I read it in your link is no different than when we imported our boat in 2006. There is no need to import a boat unless you intend to sell it (as we did our 2nd entry ) - our boat had 4 yrs. We used the dogs - easy and interesting. High risk boats are determined on arrival and given 12 months. The authorities there are great, especially in Bundeberg, the most popular port of entry. Australia has a list of requirements to enter - all spelled out when you apply for your visa (we did in Fiji): Visa aquired ahead of time (easy), 72 hour pre-notification (or more) - email them before you leave Vanuatu or New Cal; attempts to notify them via sailmail or winlink count if you can prove it - easy! Food requirements are stiff but spelled out - no surprises - do it! We entered several times - easy - officials became our friends and hailed us by name!
