Airing up the dink - hard-sided dink adherents may ignore

Raising the dink (even a light weight one) that is on top, will

adversely affect the boats center of gravity. Hope you have fin
stabilizers other wise you are going to roll more then you did.

I don't think that's going to be an issue in this particular case.  Rich
is talking about raising his dingy a little bit on the top of his aft
cabin overhead, which on a Grand Banks 42 Classic is not all that high
off the main deck to begin with.  I suspect the difference in terms of
his boat's ride will be zero.  What he's doing is a lot different than
someone raising a dinghy that's being carried on the upper deck of a
Europa or similar configuration boat, where the "boat deck" is already
eight feet or more above the main deck.
