The first, a GREAT GRAY OWL, seen yesterday February 5 at approximately 11 am until noon. It is on the Quebec side. Take highway 50 and exit at boulevard Labrosse, just after getting off at Labrosse there is a Costco and about 1 km after that there are two deep ravines on the west side of the 50. The GREAT GRAY OWL was seen on the hill between those two ravines. The second bird is a TUFTED TITMOUSE in the town of Vars. This first of all, as a caution, is a mobile home park and the residents are a bit anxious about having people just show up in cars and so if you are interested in seeing this bird, or actually there may be two of them in fact, two TUFTED TITMICE, please knock on the door and introduced yourself and let the people know what you are doing there and ask for permission to view the feeders. The address is 5620 Rockdale - this is the general address of a mobile home park. Take highway 417 to the Vars-Embrun exit, turn left and cross over the highway overpass. This becomes Rockdale. On the left hand side as you enter the village there is a sign that say 5620. The individual numbers of the mobile home are identified on this sign. The bird has been mostly been seen at numbers 13 and 14 as well as at 17. There are bird feeders on the front of #17 and behind #14. Again, please ask permission if you want to see these birds.
