All hands--

Great to see the List return to its purpose:

Passagemaking Under Power (TM), a sub-list of the popular Trawlers &
Trawlering List, was created to serve as a special forum for those
already voyaging the world and those actively planning to engage in
long-range cruising. Offshore and trans-oceanic trawlering is what PUP
is all about.

Thanks very much for the expressions of support, and the donations to
the cause.

Robert Beebe's seminal work was entitled Voyaging Under Power.  I gave
his idea my own spin by using the phrase Passagemaking Under Power to
describe this forum and the seminars I organized some years back.
There are other projects in the works under that trademark.

By its nature, a List such as PUP sees traffic wax and wane. When
there's little traffic, it does not mean the forum has died. Members
are simply busy with passagemaking or other priorities. It usually
only takes a good question or two to fire up discussions again. As we
have seen in the last few days.

Enjoy!

And don't be afraid to ask questions if you plan on going cruising
over long distances.
