Two part question:
-
I have spent about two years researching passage-makers
and so far Diesel Ducks appear to be the best at making the necessary
compromises that are important to me while remaining seaworthy. Anyone have any other,
ocean crossing (need more than one example), production, full displacement,
under 50' boats they like? Yes I know a lot about Nordhavns and Kadey Krogens (though the
KK examples of ocean crossings are few), but I am looking for others, sail assist
even better. (I think Beebe was wrong about get home sails, I like the stability and redundancy and the cost of a Junk Rig is more than viable. A balanced rig would give more than adequate points of sail.)
-
I am very interested in single-handed cruising and from
what I have read Junk/Lug rigs seem to be the best for simplicity. Does anyone
have any experience of junk rigs and or single-handed cruising with sails on Diesel
Ducks or other power boats? I have read about Seaducktress but any other
references would be helpful.
Thanks
