Just a quick note to say thanks to all who saw me thru the problems I had with
my fried inverter in the Bahamas due to their shore power. The problems were
never overcome........the inverter is fried and other systems on the boat are
now affected. Thanks to those who stuck it out with me with my wifi problems,
internet problems, and software problems in little old Green Turtle in the
Abacos. I was really up against the wall and can't thank those of you enough
who stuck it out with your tips and suggestions. Thanks to a large part to
your help the boat made the 250nm mile trip from Green Turtle and is now back
in Florida. We had no air conditioning.....ouch on that one.......and no
alternating current. But the engines and alll DC systems were 100 percent so
we felt the trip could be made.
We did a shake down cruise from Green Turtle to Spanish Cay, only around 3
hours and slipped there. Then the long run to West End (long day 14 hours) and
slipped there also. Then we made the crossing, and the conditions were
excellent. Couldn't ask for a more excellent window for crossing the Gulf
Stream. Worst part was 8 ft rollers on the beam, but they were out of the
North with 8 second periods, so no big deal. Just uncomfortable as they were
on the beam. Off the coast of Florida, everything totally flattened out for
over 20 miles. Really nice.
The boat goes in the slip tomorrow, Then I recover from the ordeal. Then I
start troubleshooting how bad this really is. It seems totally restricted to
the alternating current and inverter, so I will start there.
Thanks again.
