Hi All,

My wife and I purchased a Grand Banks Laguna 11.5 meter (38ft) that we have
been getting ready to do the loop.  Our problem is that we and the boat are
in Arizona and we need to get the boat moved.  About the closest place to
put it in the water that has access to the loop is around Corpus Cristi,
TX.  I was hoping that some of you may know of some boat movers?  I have had
a couple of contacts but they want 10K and that seems high to me for a move
that is just a little over 1000 miles.  Any help would be appreciated.

Buy a copy of Yacht Trader at a newstand.
Many ads for professional boat movers there.

I have included as an info addressee, a man
that I know has had his boat moved from
inland to the coast and back at least twice.
He may be able to provide useful info.

This is a compilation of  boat transport info I've collected over the last
few years. The first few are companies that do transport in the Texas area,
as well as other areas I'm sure. These are in no particular order other than
the order I collected them.

For the Loop I had a 36 Mainship trucked from far north
Texas to Mobile, AL and then back 8 months later.  The
distance was just under 700 miles and the cost was about
$3300 each way.  The service was excellent.  If you want
the name and contact info for the hauler send me an email.

I would use him again, and probably will.

I haven't had occasion to use S&K for
moving services, but will check with
Bob Alred, the owner, before I move
my 39' Carver to the Tenn or Tenn-Tom
systems.  He is just about 5 miles from
my marina on Grand Lake in NE Oklahoma.
He did the Interprotect and bottom
paint job very well on my previous boat.

Hi Mike,

Yea that does sound a little high but you are a little off the beaten
path... You may try Joule Yacht Movers (try google) I'm sure they are on the
web. I have used them a few times in the past and they are excelent.
Sometimes, if your schedule and destination are flexable, the price can be
negotiated so they can get a return load instead of running an empty trailer
on their return, a big no no in the trucking business. I think these
trucking companys are still moving storm damaged boats so you may be able to
get a better deal if you move your destination a little east.
Good luck and nice boat...
