Dear Acaparians,

Welcome to the new listserve for the Australian Clinical Psychology
Association. To post to the list just use the address:
office@list.acpa.org.au
The listserve operates just like our old googlegroup and goes to all
members if you 'reply all'. We'll set it up to respond only to the
individual who posted the message if you just click 'reply'.

I have missed the list so it will be good to have you back talking again.

I am attaching the draft response to the latest PBA consultation paper
here as I am very concerned about the proposed definitions being
applied to areas of endorsements... I think this totally undermines
specialisations. What do you think?

Looking forward to being more in touch,

Judy Hyde
ACPA President

Hello Judy et al

It is great to have access to our collegial network again - thanks!

Thank you also for the reply to the PBA's consultation paper; clearly The
Struggle is not over yet.

I wondered if anyone could maybe enlighten me to the meaning/professional
implications of the second paragraph (copied below) re. the core
competencies in clinical psychology that need to include:

"i)  Evidence-based therapies and intervention strategies to account for
coherent approaches to treatment based on theoretical  understanding that
is supported by research evidence.

ii)  Mention of working with parent/infant dyads." (my emphasis)

Thanks

Sonia

Hi Sonia,

These are additions to the list of descriptors in the consultation paper
that I am suggesting. I am attaching the consultation paper here so you
can see the proposals and where these comments are directed. I can't
copy segments of the document, I'm sorry, but they ask for suggestions.

It is good to be back online with each other again, isn't it? WELCOME
BACK everyone! It is SO good to have you in touch, Judy

G'day

Personally it seems to me to be a grand case of bureaucratic doublespeak written by someone with little understanding of what they were writing.

It doesn't make any sense....I think I will keep it as an example of how not to write.
