Thursday March 18th is going to be a night to remember!
5 pm Arrive at Speakeasy Arts Cooperative, for free community potluck dinner and open mic
6 pm Board the Art Bus
6-8 PM Visit 6 local hotspots: Mad Hat Tea, Embellish, Fulcrum, 253 Collective, Tacoma Art Place and Rialto Theater
8-9 PM Enjoy free concert by Dream On - the (almost) all-girl Aerosmith Tribune Band
Honey Tongue singer Jen Ayers and her new band Dream On
(an almost all girl Aerosmith tribute band) are playing a free all-ages
show at the Rialto Theater as a promotion for the Broadway Center Live
Large campaign (see www.tacomaraffle.com).
I'm sure you've heard about Live Large but in case you haven't, people
buy $99 raffle tickets on order to win huge prizes including 10k, a new
car or a million dollar dream home. Its a fundraiser for Broadway Center and
its pretty cool!
I'm also organizing an art walk tour via bus that night beginning
at 5 pm at Speakeasy. Tickets are $15 for the ART BUS. It will stop at
several of my favorite Art Walk places before arriving at Rialto
Theater at 8 pm just in time to
catch the free concert.
I'm so excited that ART BUS is finally happening! If you want to
board our very first Tacoma Fringe Art Walk Tour please register ASAP.
Reserve your seat now so we know what size bus we need. We accept
credit cards: http://www.theangelajossy.com/
So far the following galleries have signed on:
Mad Hat Tea, Embellish, Fulcrum, 253 Collective, Tacoma Art Place,
Speakeasy and of course the finale will be at Rialto where we have a
free concert by Dream On - the (almost) all girl Aerosmith Tribute
Band. This night is gonna be off the hook!!!
The bus
leaves from Speakeasy Arts Cooperative (746 Broadway) at 6:00 pm. We
ask that people arrive around 5 pm to check in and look around our
gallery and enjoy the food, drinks and music before boarding the bus.
Reserve your seat now by registering at: http://www.theangelajossy.com/ where you can purchase your $15 ticket now.
If
someone wants to sponsor 20 ART BUS tickets ($300) we will put their
name on the outside of the bus while we drive around Tacoma!
In
April we should be able to add more locations. I only have the bus for
two hours this month so its going to be tough to stay on schedule with
the amount of stops we already have. We only get 20 minutes
per stop. But if we can build up enough interest (ie ticket sales) in
the Art Bus project we'd like to do it every month, spread it out over a
4 hour period of time, make two round trips and include all the cool
art walk places and the museums. We even talked about having two buses:
a family oriented all ages bus and a 21+ bus so we can serve wine.
We might even decorate the Art Bus if we have enough time. :) Wanna help?
If you are busy that night, please consider supporting this effort by sponsoring a ticket. We have lots of people who want to go but can't afford the tickets right now.
Thanks,
~Angela Jossy
