Hello,

To my knowledge, as late as May 20th of this year, RFNoC was not supported on the E310 platform. Is the E310 now supported? If not, is there a release date available?

Hello Andrew Adams:

RFNoC is currently supported on the E310, X300, X310 devices. I'm sorry
that you were not made aware of that earlier.

There was an announcement made on the discuss-gnuradio mailing list, at the
link below.

https://lists.gnu.org/archive/html/discuss-gnuradio/2015-06/msg00230.html

We also gave a technical talk about RFNoC at the Wireless @ VirginiaTech
meeting in May 2015. The video is available at the link below.

There are some other technical RFNoC resources at the links below.

Please let me know if you have any further questions, or would like any
help getting started.

Thanks Neel,

The only other question I have is the compatibility with UHD and GNU radio. Specifically, do I need to maintain separate versions for non-RFNoC supported devices?

You need to run the rfnoc-devel branch of UHD. Any current version of
GNU Radio is fine, but you need the gr-ettus module.

There are some pre-built images here:

There are some issues where you need to remove some files from
/etc/rc5.d to avoid starting gpsd.

I'm hoping I can update them and remove some of the tricky bits this
week. Still trying to get my brain in gear after vacation last week :)

Hi Philip,

Starting with sdimage-gnuradio-dev.direct, I removed S35gpsdo and S34gps_prep from /etc/rc5.d, which fixed my segmentation fault due to lack of GPS control ACK. However, I am now getting a Runtime error due to FPGA compatibility, "Expected FPGA compatibility number 7.x, but got 6.0". Do I need to build a new FPGA image from the fpga source in UHD?

Hello,

To my knowledge, as late as May 20th of this year, RFNoC was not

supported on the E310 platform. Is the E310 now supported? If not, is
there a release date available?

There are some pre-built images here:

http://files.ettus.com/e3xx_images/alpha/fido-rfnoc-test/

There are some issues where you need to remove some files from
/etc/rc5.d to avoid starting gpsd.

I'm hoping I can update them and remove some of the tricky bits this
week. Still trying to get my brain in gear after vacation last week
:)

Hi Philip, Starting with sdimage-gnuradio-dev.direct, I removed S35gpsdo and S34gps_prep from /etc/rc5.d, which fixed my segmentation fault due to lack of GPS control ACK. However, I am now getting a Runtime error due to FPGA compatibility, "Expected FPGA compatibility number 7.x, but got 6.0". Do I need to build a new FPGA image from the fpga source in UHD? Run:

uhd_images_downloader

That gets the images for the special uhd version. Double chek command
spelling. I would type uhd_i and use tab completion.

I just uploaded a version that shouldn't have gpsd on it. Around 2 PM EDT

Not really. When I have time :)

I'm updating/testing stuff that is going into them now.

Currently, I thought I uploaded one without gpsd, but failed :) fixing and re-uploading, hopefully before the end of the day.
