Hello to all:
I just rejoined Trawler list and now live in Sarasota, FL. I am a new
trawler devotees who has been a serious sailor all his life. I am still
somewhat reluctant to give up that title of sailor, but I am getting use to
it. Are there any trawler associations in the Sarasota area besides the
Power Squadron, CGA, and the various yacht clubs that you can identify for
me. I am beginning a hunt for a boat, but need to pass beyond the
heart-fantasy ideal and the pocket book reality. The gap is huge.

Ron asks:

Are there any trawler associations in the Sarasota area besides the

Power Squadron,

skinwalker replies:

The Marine Traders Owners Association is one of the biggest and best in the
U.S.

There is a national website.  There is also a SW Florida website.  There are
Chapters in Ft. Myers and Tampa Area.

The Ft. Myers one has group activities from Punta Gorda where a large
contingent of members live through Ft. Myers and south.

They offer much even if you don't attend local functions.

(((It is not limited ot marine Trader owners. All are welcome.))))

Not only that  the next big rendezvous  of abt 70  or so boats and 300+
people will be in FtMyers in March.
There will be a number of speakers on boating topics, such as Bob Smith of
American Diesel, and seminars on navigation , repairs, splicing, safety,
docking, Cruising the ICW
( a little plug for mine)  and many many more.
