At 10:11 a.m. the Smew flew out of Whitby Harbour and off to the west. It circled around a couple of times and landed out in Lake Ontario off of Whitby Harbour.
It can probably best be seen from the west side of the harbour. Take the first major road west of the harbour, Gordon St., south from Victoria St. to its terminus and walk to the beach proceed east of the marina and south of the breakwall and search the nearby lake.
