Greetings Colleagues, Dr. Herman "Skip" Mason, Jr., Director of Library Services, Voorhees University (SC), shares the following announcement about the Wrights Potts Library: Voorhees Read: Classic African American Books featured in the Wrights Potts Library at Voorhees University Voorhees University has installed murals of 40 Classic books by African American Authors that every student should read in their lifetime in the Voorhees University Library. The murals are located on the ground floor of the Wright-Potts Library. It is a part of the "Voorhees Read" campaign. All students will receive a copy (hard or electronic) of Booker T. Washington's "Up from Slavery." Voorhees founder Elizabeth Evelyn Wright was a graduate of Tuskegee and a student and mentee of Professor Washington, who encouraged her to establish the school that would become Voorhees. There are many classic books by African American authors.
