Subject: Trawler World Buy-Sell-Trade

Question 1: Should Trawler World Buy-Sell-Trade be open to all or
restricted to private individuals?

I think it should be open to all but very strongly moderated

(Question 3).  If there is no moderation then it should be private.

Question 2: Where on the Internet or Web have you seen for-sale or
want-to-buy forums that really work well, ie, that I should use as
models for our service?

I haven't found one. Private areas seem to die for lack of

participation and public with no moderation attracts every whacko and
scam.

Question 3: Should Trawler World Buy-Sell-Trade be moderated like
rec.boats.marketplace or wide open?

See Question 1 - Strong moderation

I look forward to your input. Since a significant number of listees were
interested in such a service, your comments as posts to the list might
be appropriate. If you wish, provide the feedback via private email. In
any event, thank you for your help with this project.

I think that "commercial" vendors should be allowed to

participate providing they are from a legitimate marine vendor and are a
deemed interesting to the TrawlerWorld community as determined by the
moderator.  Commercial vendors have a lot of great information to impart
to us all and it's nice to buy from someone who is contributing to the
list.  The idea is to keep the Spam out.

I think that the "non-commercial" or individual participants

should be subject to the same constraints as the "commercial" vendors.

My main concern is the proliferation of participation from

non-TrawlerWorld, non-Marine related products and services.  Otherwise I
think a buy sell area could be great for all of us.
