To All,

Attached are the racing results for last Sunday (6/24) and Wednesday (6/27).

Sunday was challenging due to a storm that changed a lovely steady southerly
at 10 - 14 mph, into a west/northwest blast that hit 32 mph. From reports,
all boats still had their sails up when the blast hit but no one was hurt
and no damage was done.

Last night (Wednesday, June 24), was a different story. Race Committee bon
vivant Howie Rinehart called for a fun Pursuit Race where everybody started
at staggered times depending on their PHRF rating. Smaller boats started
first, faster boats last; the spinnaker division started before the
non-spinnaker division on a conventional course 12. The southerly was strong
at 15 - 20 mph, and the smaller boats reefed for the first leg. If you
weren't wet after the first leg, you got soaked when the rains came towards
the end of the race.

Tragedy struck Hee Soo when she broke her mast. Reports are that the mast
broke above the spreader. Our condolences to Eric and his crew, and we're
glad no one was hurt.

Next up - tomorrow night is a Moonlight Dinner Cruise to Shattemuc, leaving
Nyack around 6 pm. Contact me to make dock and dinner reservations for you
(luce01@optonline.net; Ph 845-918-1158).

Saturday is the Seamanship Rally (10 am - 4 pm) organized by Morris. Please
contact Morris if you plan to participate (sailor1205@aol.com) .

Then at 5 pm is the Club International Festival with each Fleet representing
a country. The Cruising Fleet is doing Caribbean, so please contact Roland
Johnson if you can help out (rolandjohnson@acm.org, Ph 201-655-8849).

It's official. There will be no Wednesday Night race on July 4th .
