We are diverting from our passage around the Loop to see the Bahamas. We
have a number of concerns for which information would be appreciated:
- We have heard the 'dredged channel' into Alice Town, North Bimini, is no
longer passable.
- It is also said that Chub Cay should not be considered as a place to
clear in because the facilities were destroyed in one of last year's hurricanes.
- Cruising guides seem to have conflicting information about how much
alcohol you can bring into the Bahamas on your vessel.
- The current fee for clearing in on vessels over 35 feet is said to be
$500 US.
Does anyone have current information on any of these items?
