We are diverting from our passage around the Loop to see the Bahamas.  We
have a number of concerns for which information would be appreciated:

  1. We have heard the 'dredged channel' into Alice Town, North Bimini, is no
    longer passable.
  2. It is also said that Chub Cay should not be considered as a place to
clear in because the facilities were destroyed in one of last year's  hurricanes.
  3. Cruising guides seem to have conflicting information about how much
alcohol you can bring into the Bahamas on your vessel.
  4. The current fee for clearing in on vessels over 35 feet is  said to be
    $500 US.

Does anyone have current information on any of these items?
