The cold plate is generally a more energy efficient approach to refrigeration but at the sacrifice of food preservation time. Personally I feel the preservation time sacrifice doesn't make the cold plate an attractive option.

I added a couple of solar cells on the pilot house to help carry the
refrigeration over for a while when we might go ashore for a few days
and are on the hook. Have not seen how it will work in the tropics
where there is actually some sun but in the north where I cruise not a
lot of help. Who ever figures out this one will make a fortune
consulting. God Bless - Ross 10&2
