"Lo All,
Hewlett Packard has a memory module program to swap out possibly defective
modules in specific lap-top models. The affected models for this swap-out
program carry the HP and Compaq brands. They imply that the defective
modules are not just in the laptops manufactured by HP, but in other brands
as well. If you want to check it out, go to their website at: (copy & paste

or
The description of the problem sounds as if it could have major
consequences when using one of the affected laptops for navigation.
I think this will go out as plaintext, but who knows? LOL Sorry 'bout that
if it doesn't....
Take care and be safe.

Hi all,
We have 2 Compaq laptops that have the affected memory and have now replaced
them. HP has a utility that checks the memory and you can get directed to a
web page to order replacements. They ship them overnight and include all the
info to replace them, a screw driver, and packaging to return the bad
memory, with a prepaid mailing label. I was impressed with the replacement
program. You can even get a free USB flash drive for participating.
