I hope you have a great holidays.  2022 season was the most challenging season for me as your tournament setup person.  Most public golf courses in the greater LA were super busy and,  most of them, had raised their tournament fee above our maximum dollar threshold (weekend rate for Ike course). The tournament cost for some of our past venues (Oak Quarry,  Goose Creek, Eagle Glen,  Moorpark) are over $110.  Because of that, for 2023,  we chose more city run golf courses for our events in 2023.  Greg Franklin, the newest IHGC board member, has stepped in to assist me with the tournament setup this year.

Our 2023 RD schedule (partial completed) is on our website.  The season opener will be on Sunday,  2/6/23 at Morongo GC.  The final of the 2022 Top Dawg’s match will be played at the same time.

Please renew your 2023 membership asap.  Like years past, most  of the membership fee is used as cash prizes for the 12 finalists of the RD’s top dawgs competition.

In 2022,  the club had embarked on the new formal identity.  The club is now registered as a semi-profit social club.  The new bylaws and article of association were approved by the committee members and posted on our website.  The new bank account (Chase Bank) and PayPal account(at ihroaddawgs@yahoo.com) were created in anticipating of the new IRS reporting requirements.  I’m in the process of finalizing our 2022 financial reports and will make them available for your review and inspection shortly.

Please sign up for our season opener along with the membership renewal as soon ad possible.

Thank you for the update.  I appreciate all that you do as Tournament Dawg for the RDs.
I'd like to propose that we put out a vote to see if people don't mind paying a slight premium for the better golf courses.  I personally prefer to pay a premium than play city-run golf courses.
Just as an FYI, even private golf courses such as South Hills, Hacienda, and Red Hill now charge $125 plus the cart fee for quest fees, So $110 does not seem unreasonable to me.

I’m with you on the premium courses. I’ll proposed to the committee for your idea.  I personally didn’t like most of the city/county run courses like Rio Hondo or all courses managed by American Golf and prefer to play high end public courses for our events.  I’ll try to get Goose Creek for June and will try to sign other courses for Oct.
