Great looking boat and website Dr. Chip.
I've got a question for the list:
I've been lurking for awhile - I'm a young guy, I dont own a boat (never
have...) but I dream of the day when I can finally get out on the water
and do some cruising with my wife.
So - I'm a newbie who doesn't know much, be gentle...
What kind of range is required for an Atlantic crossing? I realize that
an Atlantic crossing requires more than just enough fuel to make it, the
vessel has to be up to it also (let alone the Capt/crew! ;)
I also realize that you dont HAVE to be in a 62 foot Nordhavn to make the
journey (which is good cause I'll never be able to afford one...), but is
a power crossing possible in a hundred thousand dollar boat?
I'm talking Atlantic, not Pacific. What's the lists opinion on the least
expensive vessel that can make the crossing to Europe/Med with a competant
crew? And also, what's the distance between fuel pumps heading west to
east(using the most common route)?
I would love to coastal cruise forever on Dr Chip's 36', but I have a
sneaking suspicion that I'd always be looking over the horizon....
