Well, it's time for us to acquire the needed charts for our trip from
Chicago to Mobile this Fall.  Will be floating down the Illinois,
Mississippi, Ohio, Tennessee & Tom-Bigbee river systems.  Here are some
questions for those having done this:

  1. Are the Corps of Engineers chartbooks adequate?  We have all the numbers
to    order, but are concerned about accuracy and level of detail.  Are they
    sufficient?
Are there alternate or add'l charts would you recommend?

  2. Guides - Would anyone recommend specific guides for this trip?  Right
now, we just      have Fred Myers' "Tenn-Tom Nitty Gritty Cruise Guide".

Thanx in advance for any advice you might offer!
