I won't venture into sports bragging territory. U of M football has
been disappointing for many and interesting for some with a new coach
this year.
But, speaking of football, we've had issues with the University's
construction of an expansion to its stadium without regard to City noise
requirements and inadequate notice and planning for traffic control.
The usual student stuff - drinking and partying and noise.
Ongoing issues with the U regarding their desire to place utility
facilities in/under the PROW as they build/expand their facilities -
electric and communications ducts and vaults, temporary and permanent
support structures, etc. Haven't resolved the compensation issue. Also
haven't come up with a resolution of what we will agree to for stuff the
U put in the PROW in years past.
Inadequate compensation from the state for the fire services we provide
to U structures.
Relations are better now than at times in the past and ongoing dialogue
with regular meetings at a staff level seems to have helped.
