TWL: Depth Sounder Repair Assistance Requested

The General has been complaining of late that when he tries to look downward
to detect any approaching torpedoes (or maybe it was stationary rocks and
shoals)-perhaps I lost a little in the translation-anyway, he has a
ReaRanger PL-1B, Digital Depth Sounder w/LCD Display, which was manufactured
by SeaRanger Marine, Inc of Red Bank, New Jersey.  I have tried
unsuccessfully to locate this company anywhere in New Jersey (or anywhere
else for that matter).

I need to find somebody who can repair this device !!!!!!!

The General has been quite limited in his snoopin 'n' poopin' capabilities
while out on submarine watch in and around Tampa Bay because of the
malfunctioning of his eyes (or was it ears ?)  some appendage or another is
affected.

You can only imagine the imminent danger this places McDill AFB in or at the
very least, the fertilizer plant, without the General's sixth sense about
what's floating in (or under) the waters nearby.  This could even get into
the newspapers if word gets out !!!

So, if anyone can steer me in the right direction,  I (and the Florida
southwest coastline) would be deeply grateful.

Sincerely,

Jim Renforth

Don't try to repair these gadgets, get a fishfinder for a little more
than a hundred bucks, glue the sending unit to a near horizontal
section INSIDE your hull with silicone goop and you're up and running.

Be careful where you mount the Fish Finder -- they throw off lots of

RDF which may have an interesting effect on Loran or Radar  - if not
carefully shielded .
