04/02/14 - Morris, Anderson Rd -- 11:30 AM; 2 Northern Shrike in
bushes across from pond.

04/02/14 - Old Greenwich, Tomac Lane -- YELLOW-CROWNED NIGHT-HERON.

04/02/14 - Madison, Hammonasset State Park -- one dark female Snowy
Owl way out along the beach, 2 Red-necked Grebe, 1st cycle Iceland
Gull.
West Haven -- 95+ Horned Grebes.
Oyster River -- 1st cycle Iceland Gull, adult graellsi Lesser Black
Backed Gull, 20+ Bonaparte's Gull.

04/02/14 - Enfield -- 3 Black Vultures circling near the CT River.
yard -- Fox Sparrow for the 3rd consecutive day.

04/02/14 - Stratford -- noon;  a Red-necked Grebe in the Ferry creek
channel at the intersection of Ferry Boulevard and Broad Street.

04/02/14 - Portland, Portland Fairgrounds -- 2:00 PM; Fairgrounds were
flooded due to the high CT River, but the small cornfields across the
street were literally covered with Wilson’s Snipe (and a few Kildeer)!
It was the most Snipe I have ever seen in the State, so many that
"flocks" of them were constantly flying around the stubble field often
landing right alongside the road!

04/02/14 - Simsbury -- Male Northern Pintail in the flooded cornfield
on the east side of Nod Road, just south of Route 185.

in marsh.  Also Snowy Owl still present perched on far Osprey
platform.  Seen at 7 PM.

04/02/14 - ????? -- Between 9 and 10 AM; going in and out on the
Amston Rail Tr on right hand side in lst wet area as you pass the
Colchester Spur Trail, a BLUE-WINGED TEAL.

04/02/14 - South Windsor, Donnelly Park -- I spent the early evening
tonight surrounded by peenting and whirring American Woodcock.  Only a
few glimpses of the birds themselves in the dark but lots of sounds in
stereo.
