We're departing November 7 for a six month cruise in the Pacific coastal
regions of northern Mexico: Los Angeles south to Ensenada, Turtle Bay, Mag
Bay, Cabo San Lucas, east to Puerto Vallarta (for about a month), then north
along the Pacific coast of mainland Mexico to Mazatlan, and slow cruising up
the east shore of the Sea of Cortez to the Sonora area, at a leisurely pace.
We'll then head south along the west shore (eastern coast of Baja) to La Paz,
back to Cabo, and return home to Southern California around May, waiting for a
decent weather window.
Our primary navigation gear is Nobeltec VNS 9 and Raymarine E120/E80. We've
just added AIS and have the usual radars, GPSs, etc., and Charley's and Rains'
guide books, but lack good electronic charts of this area of Mexico.
We'd greatly appreciate any input on what electronic chart resources may be
available covering these cruising grounds, as well as 'local knowledge' info
re "must see" ports/locales.
Thanks in advance!

Navionics vector charts are about $10 for Central America including
Mexico, that run on the Android operating system, like the Droid phones.
There may be some for the iPhone, and there is definitely a set for some
of the PC and Mac chart plotting software packages, about $300 USD.
