Dave, your message: (I just want to point out a mistake I made with the spacer required on older Racor 500 filters. I put the spacer on the top of the filter. This is incorrect, the spacer has to go on first then the filter. This probably explains why my vacuum gauge hasn't moved at all. Racor told me I have been bypassing my filter. I hope you haven't made the same mistake.) I am not sure I fully understand. I dont have any small spacer when I purcase the Racor 500 filters (2010) Are you saying I need to use a spacer under the filter? The newer filters are shorter then the older filters. Racor will give you the spacer for free. Without the spacer, if one is required, the filter does nothing.
