Andy and I are new to the list and look forward to purchasing a trawler in 5 years when we retire. To get started we purchased our Zodiac tender and are having a ball learning the basics here in the San Francisco Bay Area. Our 'lit'l yacht' passagemaker has bimini top, VHF, GPS, cell phone, etc. -- everything but radar and a head. We are learning quickly how long it takes to get anywhere at 6-8 knots, although "lit'l yacht" tools along nicely at 14 knots when the Bay and Delta permit it (not often) with its Evinrude 9.9.

We are looking to purchase a trans-ocean trawler (60'-70') and cruise the oceans of the world. We are currently looking to join a yacht club soon, will attend our first TrawlerFest in Vallejo, CA, and spending time with the experienced and knowledgeable folks on this list.

We thoroughly enjoy sorting through the messages everyday and saving many of them for future reference.

See you on the list.

Sharon Zanassi
Andy Johnson
"Shandy's Dream" trawler-to-be
Novato, California

P.S. - "minishow" references my small business producing dollhouse miniature shows.
