Official Counter:        Hugh Kent, Noel Herdman

Observers:        Liz Kent, Noel Herdman

Visitors:
Big thanks to Noel for starting off the day and joining later to help out.

Weather:
A cold day (about 4c) with a brisk wind generally from the south. Patchy
clouds initially soon gave way to overcast skies. Visibility was good.

Raptor Observations:
A quiet day with much lower Turkey Vulture (232) numbers the majority
appearing mid morning to the north. A few Red-tailed Hawks (21) and a
couple of Red-shouldered Hawks passed by mostly on their own. Sharp-shinned
Hawks (12) come in small numbers across the day. A single Golden Eagle was
seen around midday to the north. Northern Harriers (6) generally kept low
over the marsh. Two American Kestrels and a single Merlin were seen. Bald
Eagles (4) continue to migrate in small numbers.

Non-raptor Observations:
Fewer blackbirds today, those present were mostly Rusty Blackbirds (390).
Cedar Waxwings (524) are still passing by in good numbers. Shorebirds
continue to flyby with Dunlins (25), Greater Yellowlegs (7), and 14
unidentified peeps. Ducks are still maintaining numbers with Ring-necked
Ducks (1030) having moved back into the centre of the marsh having
sheltered from the north wind yesterday. A few Tundra Swan (27) flew over
as well as two Sandhill Cranes. The list is at
https://ebird.org/checklist/S153495920

Predictions:
Tomorrows forecast is for a moderate wind from the north west, sunny but
colder than today. Hopefully the wind will bring more birds than today.
