Hi Jim,

You've already gotten some good advice from members here on PUP and also
T&T.  One other thing I'd add is that if you're not already a member of  the
southbound group, it is a wealth of information from folks planning and many
already living the dream in Pacific Mexico and Central America.  The link
is  http://groups.yahoo.com/group/southbound_group/
(http://groups.yahoo.com/group/southbound_group/)    You will need a yahoo address to access
this, but can receive it on your regular  email address.

It's been several years since we were in Pacific Mexico, but as was already
mentioned, the electronic charts were more often than not, way
off.....Plan to  arrive at your anchorage in daylight!  I believe that the Mexican Navy
has  some new charts available that are supposed to be very accurate, but
don't  remember the details and how to access them.  Southbound group
archives and  files should be able to answer this and many of your other questions.

Enjoy your trip!  PM is one of the best cruising grounds out  there.....the
food is incredible (the best in all of Central America IMHO), the  people
are friendly and welcoming, and the marine life will take your breath  away!

Best regards,
