LAPLAND LONGSPURS.

Winter Wren.

12/26/10 - Bloomfield yard -- A Red-breasted Nuthatch and a Brown
Creeper joined the usual backyard birds in the morning as the snow
began flying.

12/26/10 - Wallingford, North Farms Reservoir -- considerable open
water, one female Northern Pintail.

12/26/10 - Westport, Longshore Golf Course -- BARNACLE GOOSE,
originally Grays Creek, then at about 9:00 moved to the golf course by
the first pond on the exit road. CACKLING GOOSE on the golf course by
the pond closest to the club house starting at about 8:15.

12/26/10 - Bridgeport, Captain's Cove -- 1 female Northern Pintail, 43
Lesser Scaup.
Bridgeport, Seaside Park -- Red-necked Grebe, 2 Northern Gannet,
Iceland Gull, American Pipit, Lapland Longspur, 9 Snow Buntings.
Bridgeport -- 2 Peregrine Falcon adults at nest box on I-95 bridge
over Bridgeport Harbor.

12/26/10 - Stratford, Raven Park Pond (Rt 110 duckpond) -- Northern
Pintail, female.
foot of Cove Place -- 2 KING EIDERS (female), 3000 Greater Scaup, 10
Lesser Scaup, 3000 White-winged Scoters, 500 Surf Scoter, 1 BLACK
SCOTER.
Sikorsky Airport entrance -- 7:15am, 11 BOAT-TAILED GRACKLES.
Birdseye St. boat ramp / marsh -- 1 Wilson's Snipe.
Short Beach Golf Course -- 1 American Pipit, 1 Lapland Longspur.
Sniffen's Lane birches -- 35 COMMON REDPOLLS.

the NE wind in the stones of the north side bulkhead on the causeway.

the outer edge of South Cove.
