TWL: All chain rode lengths

I came to the conclusion that as a Right Coast cruiser all chain rodes
were too heavy to carry forward in any decent length. I recently
overhauled all my gear and went to 150 ft 3/8" HT BBB spliced to 5/8"
Samson high strength nylon braid. The advantage of this as I see it is
that I have 300 ft if I need it, nylon acts as a snubber if I put out
that much instead of using a separate snubber, I rarely use more than
about 125 feet in fact so it ends up as all chain anyway, less weight in
the bow, easier to stack in the locker, only drawback I can think of is
that it can't be ended for ended without replicing. The other bower is a
250 ft 5/8" nylon with 20 feet 1/2" chain. Stern anchor is a tape reel -
very convenient to a Fortress.
