Advanced Marine Inflatables has a versatile dinghy that has great stability
and can carry heavy loads yet can still be handled by two people. Because of
their unique Tunnel Hull design, the dinghies are used by divers, fire
departments and for river search and rescue In addition to being a very
dependable ship to shore dinghy. Check out their website at
www.amiboats.comhttp://www.amiboats.com/  Below is a synopsis by an AMI boat
owner that uses it as a tender.

"Just a few quick comments on my experiences with the AMI dingy we have aboard
the Ocean Dance...

As you are aware, we have a Novurania 430DL dingy which was used as the
exclusive tender for our Cheoy Lee 55' LRC while in the Pacific Northwest.  It
was suggested by several cruisers that we met prior to departing San Diego for
Panama that we needed to either replace the Novurania with a beachable dingy
or add a beachable dingy to the boat in addition to the Novurania.  We learned
there are few, very few in fact, dingy docks in Mexico and Central America
where we would be able to land the Novurania and the only feasible solution to
that problem is a beachable dingy, one fitted with drip down wheels to aid in
pulling it up on the beaches.

We researched various brands and models of dinghies which would serve our
purpose while cruising in Mexico, Central American and Panama and eventually
made to the decision to purchase an AMI Advanced Cat.  The experiences we have
had with the AMI Advanced Cat during our cruise thus far have proven we made
the right decision and purchased the perfect boat!

Never having landed a dingy through the surf, I was very leery on the proper
techniques to accomplish this feat safely.  I need not have worried as the
stability and safety provided by the unique design of the AMI Advanced Cat has
proven over and over that we indeed have the proper boat!  We have never
experienced any difficulties or danger when landing or launching the AMI in
the surf!  In fact, in Zihuatanejo Bay, Mexico during a recent period of high
surf, the AMI Advanced Cat never failed to deliver myself and crew to the
beach and back without fail, all in perfect safety and comfort. This amazed us
as we saw several V bottom dinghies flip in the high surf unceremoniously
dumping the crews in the water during the same time period.  We were
constantly amazed at the crowds of cruisers the AMI Advanced Cat drew on the
beach as it sat on the wheels out of the water.  Other cruisers were
fascinated by the catamaran design of the AMI Advanced Cat and comments ranged
from "now there is a dingy design that makes sense" to "we need to get one of
those"!

Keep up the great work,

Captain Jim Guy

Concept is interesting. PVC fabric and lack of a hard fiberglass or aluminum
bottom are undesirable characteristics. It is not clear that there is any
intention of keeping passengers dry and can't see them rowing well.
