I just called Canadian Customs in Victoria 250-363-0343 and was
informed that a US citizen that resides in the US can keep a boat
in Canada for 12 months and if the boat is returned to a US
port and checked in for even a portion of a day, the boat can be
returned for another 12 months repeatedly as long as the owner
"visits" the boat occassionly.

That's good news... their written law (referenced in earlier email) is
more restrictive than that, but if the Customs people are interpreting
it that way on Vancouver Island... so much the better.
