Today the following 9 species of shorebirds were at the Alfred Sewage
Lagoons:
Short-billed Dowitcher (3)
Wilson's Phalarope (2)
Greater Yellowlegs (2)
Lesser Yellowlegs (94)
Least Sandpiper (225)
Semi-palmated Sandpiper (1)
Wilson's Snipe (1)
Killdeer (24)
Spotted Sandpiper (17)

DIRECTIONS: From the town of Alfred go east on Highway 17, then turn
south on Peat Moss Road and drive for 2 km. The lagoons are on your left
(east side of road). Contact Richard Villeneuve, Township of Alfred and
Plantagenet at (613) 679-2292 for the required permit to enter the lagoons.

A quick visit to the Alfred Sewage Lagoons yielded the following 9 species
of shorebirds today :

Stilt Sandpiper (1) in breeding plumage
Semi-palmated Plover (1)
Short-billed Dowitcher (1)
Wilson's Phalarope (1)
Greater Yellowlegs (2)
Lesser Yellowlegs (90+)
Least Sandpiper (200+)
Killdeer (15+)
Spotted Sandpiper (10+)
