This was A Message I got today from pftmm@yahoo.ca In response to some items
I posted for sale on BST I understand he's sent similar messages to others who
repeat posts.

I think your abuse on trawler

world is incredibly inconsiderate. You should change your address to NO
BRAINSMAN.
Your not getting the message "ASS HOLE" no body wants your over priced junk.
I would think that is obvious with 14 insertions in April and already 5 in
May. What abuse of privilege you must be incredibly stupid.

You think maybe he's wound A little to tight?

Well,
FWIW (For what its worth) from a predominately Lurker mode participant
who knows nothing of either party, The message is certainly a bit
aggressive.

However, it is possible the author of the message recalled the contents
of the message they received when joining the list and wishes that
others would head the directive that was issued. They, unfortunately,
may not have taken the time to pen a more palatable request for the
repeat poster to re-read the rules of the list.

I've copied them below for those that may have lost or otherwise deleted
them.  Pay particular attention to item five.  Though not necessarily a
reason to go "buck" if someone violates it, it does provide a possible
reason:

"Welcome to the Trawler-Buy-Sell-Trade@lists.samurai.com mailing list!
Welcome to Trawler-Buy-Sell-Trade List, aka buy-sell-trade (BST)!

For-sale and want-to-buy postings, charter offerings, and commercial
messages are what Trawler-Buy-Sell-Trade List is all about.

To post a message to all the list members, send email to
<trawler-buy-sell-trade@lists.samurai.com>.

Here are the rules for Trawler-Buy-Sell-Trade:

  1. Only products and services directly related to voyaging, cruising and
living aboard power vessels are to be posted on Trawler-Buy-Sell-Trade.

  2. Private individuals as well as commercial interests are invited to
use Trawler-Buy-Sell-Trade to post information about products and
    services.

  3. Transactions themselves must be conducted via private email.

  4. Name the product or service in the subject line.

  5. Post the same or similar information no more frequently than once a
    month.

My apologies if I have offended or enflamed anyone in particular.  I
decided to "pipe up" because I, in fact, have had to go back to the
rules issued to me recently to see if I had read them correctly after
receiving quite a few frequent repeat posts.  I merely use the delete
key to deal with it, but admit the additional mail can give someone an
itchy trigger finger on the 'ole' delete key.
