Hey Tacoma, we’re back!
The Ground to Sound Film & Art Festival is returning in Spring 2025!
A 2017 community survey found that most residents are unaware that the
stormwater and wastewater systems are separate in Tacoma, and that most
stormwater flows from our streets, sidewalks, and neighborhoods untreated
into the Puget Sound.
In 2018, the “If It Hits the Ground, It Hits the Sound” marketing campaign
was launched to bring awareness to this important issue and to encourage
positive behavior change.
The campaign includes a variety of public art and education components in
partnership with local artists, schools, and community groups - including
the Ground to Sound Film and Art Festival!
Last year, we dove into an ocean of inspiration through the arts for the
first-ever Ground to Sound Film Festival hosted by @fosterscreative, in
partnership with the @cityoftacoma and @sustainuwt.
So what can you expect from the next chapter of Ground to Sound Film & Art
Festival?
💫 Performances from local artists + poets
💫 Film submission from youth, teen, and adult film-makers
💫 Cash prizes for winners
💫 Community pop-up events
